1) 4 = 1.65 (1.09)^n
therefore n is approximately equal to 10.25
hence in the year 2010 a can of softdrink will cost $4.00

2) p(selecting at least 2 bio)= (5/12 x 4/11 x 3/10) + (5/12 x 4/11 x 7/10) + (5/12 x 7/11 x 4/10) + (7/12 x 5/11 x 4/10)

Invest (2500/6) $417 per month instead of 2500 every six months because then while you are only investing the same amount of money at the same interest rate, you are earning interest compounding monthly instead of six monthly, therefore you will end up with more

ok well there's the answers to all 3 questions, can you let me know if i am right

CONNIE....

1)
CORRECT!... Well done The answer for this question was actually a bit longer, as below, but still u got it right, well done! (Did u use a gfx calc?)
P=1.65(1.09)^n
4=1.65(1.09)^n
try n=5, 1.65(1.09)^5 = 2.539 (too small)
try n=12, 1.65(1.09)^12 = 4.641 (too big)
try n=10, 1.65(1.09)^10 = 3.906 (close but small)
try n= 11, 1.65(1.09)^11 = 4.258 (a bit too big)
Therefore the soft drink will reach $4.00 in the year 2010

2)
CORRECT!... Well done!
