Question: Parabola and the locus (1 Viewer)

hay guys i have a question that i was sorta havin trouble with: Find the equation of the parabola with the coordinates of the focus (0, 2) and coordinates of the vertex (0, 0).

the parabola is y=8x^2
u sub "a" into the equation y=4ax^2
a=2 because (2-0) focal length
note this formula only works wen the vertex is (0,0)

Use the formula x²=4ay where a is the focal length (distance between vertex and focus)

a=2

thus equation is x²=8y
