And c)ii) i just used similar triangles twice and left it there cos i was braindead

Easy to show triangles AXY and ABC are similar (they are equi-angular).

Similarly for triangles BXY and BAD

.: their corresponding sides are proportional.

.: XY/AD = BX/AB

.: XY/BC = AX/AB

.: XY/AD + XY/BC = BX/AB + AX/AB = (AX + BX)/AB = AB/AB = 1

.: Dividing throughout by XY:

1/XY = 1/AD + 1/BC

I missed that, it that case you'd have to integrate dP/dt, get the equation for P and then sub that back in to dP/dt ... what where the marks in v for then, I assumed at least one was for integrating P?
