No one knows... they used to give the figures out

Depending on other factors it was around 80-85% to Get band 6ish...

i did HSC last year and got final mark of 95 (assesment was = to exam mark) and i think that i got about 92% (110/120) in HSC exam, based on the fact that i got that 92% in my trial and thought that it was about the same difficulty. However, one of my friends got 82% in trial and wasn't confident with HSC exam at all and still ended up with final mark of 92, so i think that you would only need a raw mark of over 100 to get into band 6.

really.. i don't think you need 95% raw.. to get a band 6 in 2U.. i'm pretty sure roughly 90% will get you into band 6.. besidese, i think in the 2002 scaling (see the front page ;)) 2U is above the mean.. so yeah.

u really think 110/120 in 2u?? i don't think so, that's too high. that means 20% of the state in 2u only lost 10 marks last year?

i have a hunch this yr's paper will be fairly difficult - the last hard papers were in 1993 and 1998 so i think it's probably about time they had another tough one... but who knows with the BoS?

83% was for last year, approximately, if you look at the scaling table approx 83% would get you a band 6

"Easy" .. "Hard" .. who cares, we wont kno till we're in there.. might as well prep is as a "Hard" exam.
BTW 2u Maths aint easy easy. Think general. Before that it was that other "fundementals of maths" or wotev.
the 2unit course is what used to be called "Advanced" maths.
its the highest u go whilst sustaining a social life.

tho i shouldnt talk. i find it easy.. but not in exams.
maths dont work in my head.. never has.. never will..
i hope i get a band 3... :p then i goto uni

OH and who cares what u need to get a band 6? shouldnt u just do as good as you possibly can..?
or are you aiming to perform to an imaginary standard and no more?
you cant use this to guage wot u may get.. becuase it is unknown what the rest of the state will get.

In conclusion.. take a chill pill

well i've been told by my maths tutor that 1993 and 1998 were the 2 hardest papers since 1990... in terms of the raw marks people recieved

however, some of the questions that they asked in the 1993 paper can't be asked again... (not in the syllabus type thing)

and i guess u are right - i look at it as - if i'm finding it hard, chances are that 75% of the people sitting the paper are finding it hard... so stress less
