Just wondering your answer to the eternal battle over punk vs rock. I pretty much love both but there's others who would kill me for saying so. :rolleyes:

i'd say rock simply because the term punk has been hijacked too much by little emo boys and much true punk would be considered by many rock according to contempary definitions of each genre

the representations of and attitudes towards punk over time?

I'll tell you why, I didn't know how all this thread starting works cos I was new round here and I accidentally put it in this forum. I like your theories though! :rolleyes:

but back on topic(sorta) whats your favorite punk band?(please limit it to proper punk not emo)
recently i've really been getting into mclusky.
...and you will know us by the trail of dead are cool too. while kinda bordering on prog/experimental their early stuff is still gritty. but their new album is a bit of a let down
