I have been working through the 3Unit Fitzpatrick book and im currently stuck on q17, page 124. Ill post up question aswell and answer as well. Please if you manage to get the answer, please tell me your working out as i couldnt get the answer.
Q 17) A stone is thrown so that it will hit a bird at the top of a pole. However, at the instant the stone is thrown, the bird flies away in a horizontal straight line at a speed of 10m/s. The stone reaches a height double that of the pole and, in its descent, touches the bird. Find the horizontal component of the velocity of the stone.
A 17) 12.1m/s
