How about the issue of moral responsibility to others? as in discussing how in PnP Mr Darcy believes him self to be so much better than the society of country town that he doesn't dance or even talk much to the people. Austen is pointing out his arrogance to the people is wrong and that everyone should receive equal amounts of respect.

on page 28 of LTA- fay says somthing like...' for the first time that the personal, the emotional is in fact the moral-nowdays of course for good or bad we argue that irt is political'
