Hehe I remember sitting on the bus on the first day in year 7 thinking how old all the year 11s were. Like Kujah, I have an entirely new uniform too (quite expensive) plus we get use of the senior commonroom and increased library access.

If your going to get study guides save your money and get them for HSC when everything counts.

Hmm yes they could be but I suggest you buy them when you need them not straightway. If anything buy them for HSC year when it counts and at least then you will know if they work\help you, if you ask me the whole buying study guides for the sack of it is not worth it with a lot of people not using them. Best to get them when you need them and not before.

Awesome, I inspired a thread!

At my school we gotta buy a whole new uniform, somewhere in the $200-300 area; and the school switched uniform supplies from the small local one to some random Sydney one who gets the uniforms made in Chinese sweatshops for half the price! :burn:

Oh yes, and I was thinking of buying that Cambridge 3 unit maths study guide whatsidoosey, as its a Prelim/HSC one.

Yeah they still charge us full price for them - I'm assuming the school gets a nice cut of the profits now

I guess I'll see how I go, and perhaps that study guide if I 'need' it

im ready to start year 11. i'm apprehensive, and excited to begin really working. my study habits have been pretty shitty for the past 4 years, but im ready to improve and perfect my skills for year 12.

ive started notes/study for maths, because i kind of dont want to suck this year. scraping by with 50-60% marks isnt fun.

i plan on buying excel books for legal and modern mainly. ive inherited maths text books from my siblings :)

at my school we go into senior uniform in year 10, so nothing new on that front.

Private then?

I don't know why you are complaining. I mean you go to a private\selective\elite school you expect to pay a high price for everything including uniform.

Nope. Not a selective/private/elite school. I'm from a normal public school :)
