Hi there is a dot point in the prelim physics syllabus i am not sure about
It says, 'explain that refraction is related to the velocities of a wave in different media and outline how this may result in the bending of a wavefront'.

I get the first part but not the second part.

Any explanation or information will be appreciated

I think for the second part of this dot point you should outline the conditions for which refraction involves a change in direction (ie wave is incident on a boundary b/w 2 media of different densities at an angle which is not 90 degrees) and and also outline the conditions when refraction does not involve the wavefront changing direction (ie when incident at an angle of 90 degrees).

In addition: velocity changes because wavelength changes and if the angle of incidence is not zero, there is also a change in direction.
