Well, I can say for sure there are ALOT of horrible teachers at my school , along with some exceptional ones .
I remember we were bored and made a list of dodgy and legit teachers. Dodgy teachers cover 66.6% of my school.

My physics teacher did a phd and wrote the jacaranda book. He is the worst teacher I have ever had. Never teaches, just rambles on about random stuff. He knows his stuff but cannot teach.

My Chem teacher is pree much like : write up this prac, do it. K bye

Economics teacher is non existent. We have had subs more than him

3U teacher DOES.EVERY.SINGLE.THING.ON.GEOGEBRA . We spent like a week talking about how they found out what Pi was, they got twins to walk around/along the circumference and diameter of a circle. It's cool, but we actually gotta learn something sometime

I think he pulled of a lesson on perms and coms using GEOGEBRA animations. How is that even possible

My English teacher is great. For the first time I feel like I understand what Dickens was trying to tell society :)

My 2U teacher is perfect. Theory, example questions, homework , asks if anyone needs help from last weeks homework, repeat.
We cover and understand everything.

Good teachers probably go to ruse or are bought from rich private schools [emoji14]

Yeah that totally explains why a godly maths teacher such as Mr Woo himself is currently teaching at a public school ranked in the 60's

You clearly have a lot to learn about this world

Soz, don't know godly mr Wu
I didn't mean ALL lol. I think you took it literally. If you actually read my post my school has some exceptional teachers, and I'm sure schools ranked 300+ have great teachers aswell.

If it's not the teachers, is it only the students which can be accounted for the schools success?

wow sammy but i'm gonna have to back crisium here, you don't know Mr Woo? he's like the dream maths teacher and he taught at ruse but then moved to become headteacher at cherrybrook. Go on youtube and watch his vids, soo good. His decision to leave ruse may be considered stupid for some people but i personally think it took a lot of courage for him to pursue his journey in teaching

Is this Eddie woo? I've seen some of his Videos about tech and scaling. Seems like a smart guy.

But I WAS JOKING AHAHAHA
I didn't think you guys would seriously believe I thought ALL good teachers go to ruse :p

Shit this guy has videos on like every topic. Kinda like patrickJMT and a great you tuber whose username I've forgot :p

. I'll watch some tomorrow but it's so awesome I don't have to rely on khan academy as much , as khan covers the American syllabus not the Aussie one.

A definition of an excellent mathematics teacher has to be Mr. Eddie Woo

No, but I watch his videos all the time

I personally believe that after watching over 100 of his videos, he has truly set the standard on what the virtues or qualities of what a teacher should teach like, this is not just for maths.

Eddie Woo is amazing. I watched his videos for IPT and they were sooo helpful! So much better than my teacher sometimes -___-

My teachers are great...and I come from a non-selective ranked 100 - 200 school. I, somehow, dodged all the "shitty" teachers since Year 7. But that was mainly because all the "shitty" teachers teach the "lower scaling" or non-HSC subjects such as English Studies.

tbh, term 4 is relatively chill (many will vouch for this)

the assessments aren't even that intense at first hand so it won't be as overwhelming contrary to what many fresh year 12s anticipate

Next yr is where shit gets fked lol
