Hey, does anyone know what Pliny the Youngers letter to Tacitus indicates about society in Pompeii at the time of the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius??????

Please, need tips urgently!!!

Very little. he does not mention the place and he is writting 25 years later. What kind of wacko teacher do you have ?

As an Ancient History teacher my advice is:

read both the letters and highlight what he mentions about the eruption in one colour and anything else about Pompeii in another.

Then you will know what he said and feel good at having done it for yourself.

  • it shows that the pompeiian society made very strong wine that gave "headaches"
  • the expolsion was like an umbrella tree( like a palm tree)
  • The explosion had to have been very big as the destruction could be seen from misenum
yeah but you really should read the letters it will help alot
im at school atm but when i get home ill go over my pliny notes and post more if u need it : )
