Find two integers between which the roots of ln(x+3) = x-1 lies.

How is this done mathematically?

don't you find the roots/x-intercepts of each line (i.e, ln(x+3) and x-1)
then check with 2 whole numbers there are between those roots

in this case, the root of ln(x+3) is x=-2 and the root of x-1 is x=1
therefore, the 2 integers between the two lines are -1 and 0

To work out what integers they lie in between, draw a neat graph of y = ln(x + 3) and y = x - 1 on the same diagram and it should be clear between which two integer x values they intersect at (if you drew it accurately enough)
