…ok so I am behind on term 1s work LIKE WAY BEHIND, maths extension I have been doing via distance Ed so I struggled a lot in term one and now I just feel dumb because one of my classmate is being called a “genius” and “smart” kid and it’s frustrating because I keep wondering how to become the “smart” kid of the class. I study 6-4 hrs a day (most days), and I believe it’s because I am not studying efficiently. In maths one of my issues placed forward is that I am not thinking for myself and instead I am following instructions yeah… srry if this is long lol but I would really love some help on how to better my situation and become an ACADEMIC WEAPON LMAO. Thanks a lot of reading and help would be appreciated!! :D

Maths the best way to study imo would be to grind out different questions and develop your problem solving skills (once you've actually learnt the content ofc).
Ah thank you so much!! Any advice on time management? Srry if I am asking too much :)

For me after I went through the theory and textbook questions for a topic, I'd do past paper qs for that topic (a compilation of past paper qs by topic would help save some time), then I'd try to find tutoring resources/papers (questions from tutoring centres are usually the most unique and difficult and are good for building intuition). My time management wasn't the best but that was how I studied maths (helping explain stuff to other ppl is also useful) and it worked out pretty well.

this might be a hot take, but I think that 6 hours is wayyyyy to much to be doing consistantly. ik some people disagree, and many people who get 99.95 have similar schedules, but the strain that it has on you mentally (IMO) is going to make whatever study you do, a lot less effective. The biggest thing I'd say, is listen actively in class, and really make sure that you understand what is being taught. It's one thing to not be confused, but making sure that you can actually articulate what you've learned is important, and it will relieve the revision you need to do before exams.
