it depends on the school u go to as well, doesnt it? having a good rank in a crap school can be worse than coming last in some good schools i think correct me if i'm wrong

by the way. i'm not saying anything in particular to u ur rank is awesome and u will make it if u try hard

Thanks guys :)

I needed some reassurance.

Yes I heard the school you go to does affect your UAI.

Unfortunately I don't go to a very good school (Chester Hill High).

However my grade this year have been the best in the past decade (so they say :p )

For the simple fact that you are trying to get UAI predictions:-

a) Before trials
b) Before sitting the HSC
c) Without giving marks. You could be second and sit on 53%. Happened in my Trials, fortunately it wasnt me.

School can affect it, but if you murder your trials and the HSC, and rank well...it shouldnt have much affect.

Cant give an accurate UAI because it's impossible. SAM is close, but missed mine by 3 points even with final marks.

In conclusion.

Just do your best.
Thanks.

Just another question. You said " c) Without giving marks. You could be second and sit on 53%. Happened in my Trials, fortunately it wasnt me."

Does that mean marks are more important than ranking? I know someone doing modern history and is coming 2nd but has average marks of 70.

Another person is averaging 80's but is ranked 10th.

Please explain.

Thanks,

Duck.

No ranks are much more important but he's just saying that you are just giving us your ranks and not the marks to back up those ranks. Which means you could make us assume you are on 90% and coming 2nd or whatever, when in reality you are on 50% and coming 2nd etc. Which either means the tests are easy at your school and tests are hard or easy and you are getting crap marks

The marks helps to show us the level of difficulty and the level of your knowledge in the test and the subject respectively

Sorry I'm still looking for all my grade 12 assignments and I'll post their marks. I can't recall them off the top of my head.

Yeah - marks look fine. You go to an average public school? Not really enough information to tell yet, but most likely somewhere between 80 and 90.
Hehe yes I go to a VERY average school :p

we need marks alongside with ranks to determine whether or not your school sets easy or hard assessment tasks. your ranks look ok to me, but seeing as you have 11 units, with SOR looking likely to be counted, youll need to bump up your rank in either IPT or BIO. Do you know roughly what your school is ranked? So far id say around low 70s, but with the trials coming up, im sure you can improve your rank by a few places.
