4u >>>>>> phys and chem
phys and chem are about the same . IMO chemistry is much easier than physics, but physics is more interesting.

You do realise that without physics, you'd have no decent infrastructure, cars, electricty etc etc right? XD
you realise that without biology you would have no humans to work with physics and chemistry.

on another scale:

biology > earth and environmental science

EES is basically science for dummies (but still better than senior science), like it's fully intended to be easier.

I'd lol if they brought out a new curriculum with a really rigorous tough geology course, and made physics the easy subject!

Also, it's not really true to say that without physics we wouldn't have electricity or whatever... all the physics behind that was done over 100 years ago, the physics component is trivial now, it's all engineering & construction.

You want usefulness? Genetics research alone gets more funding than phys & chem put together

you can't compare chemistry, physics and biology in terms of how useful they are, individually, to society. they all work together to make our quality of life better...but without them i think we would still be living....but we'd live with a crappier lifestyle.

LOL. Biology is the study of living organisms etc etc. It's not the interaction/creation of living organisms so humans would still exist :p

Engineers use physics and other fields - physics is hence by no means "trivial".

Yeah and most of the genetics research is thrown out the door because it's controversial lol.

the NSW course 'earth and environmental science' makes it sound a pushover.

geology would be be better.

but of course even the national curriculum run by victorians decided that the name is good enough.

however im glad that they didn't introduce a senior science course. the downside here is even after the national (victorian) curriculum is implemented, state subjects that aren't replaced still remain...

You do realise that without chem, you'd have no materials to build the decent infrastructure, cars, electricity etc etc right? XD

I still liek Physics betterer though...
You do realise without maths, none of those would be effective. so yeah, maths, ftw.

biology IS the study of organisms, therefore if you take the study of organisms out of the equation, humans would not be able to evolve and discover the science behind chemistry and physics.

LOLOLOLOL.

Even if we "take the study of organisms out of the equation", humans would still evolve and chem/physics would evolve. That is of course the case with all other scpeicies on this earth - not just humans.

That crap can be reduced to Chemistry which is then reduced to Phyics the fundamental science.
