Our generation are the ones who are going to get fucked. We'll be paying sky high tax rates to pay for all the aged pensioners and yet will receive piss poor government services because all the money will be going to the old folk. The worst of all worlds.

The bogans in macquarie fields and so on who think they are going to live off the dole, single parent and/or disability pension their whole lives better wise up because they will be they will be the first things that get cut in the next 10 years or so. I think if you are under 65 you'll be pretty much on your own with regards to housing as well.

I think we should wait for the review of all pension schemes but it should be done in as timely a manner as possible. That's not to say the one off quick payments have no appeal, but without a proper review who gets to decide who receives such payments?

If the pension needs to be raised to a level where I'd find it desirable then we've got a problem. This whole idea that we should legislate what we'd want for ourselves is silly, we don't have the resources to do that.
