The cutoffs at ANU are pegged, that's why they can offer a single UAI across commerce, economics, arts and science.

If this is true then won't that mean there will be an excess of vacancies?
And if demand decreases a lot, then A LOT of vacant seats?

Also, is anu the only uni that pegs their cutoffs?

Normally cutoffs are based on demand and supply. But ANU pegs some courses, setting a required minimum. This means that if that in some cases there will be an excess in vacant positions.
