Seems alright, maybe replace the highish end RAM (1600) with some lower clock speed ram (1066 or 1333) instead and have it at 4GB

get rid of the external drive and use it on something else (more ram, better cpu, an ssd perhaps?). also i prefer the 5750/5770 over the gts 250, it's only ~$30 more and far superior.

This is not a post YOUR machine thread...

and just putting it out there, that that's a POORLY designed computer. i7 970 is a waste of money... either an 860 or a 920 overclocked are the only 2 worth buying. If you're running 4GB of RAM you're doin' it wrong because a 900 series i7 has a triple channel memory controller (3,6,9,12... ya' know, multiples of 3)... if you're running the 4x500GBs in RAID5 or RAID0+1 that's acceptable, and the 2x1TBs in RAID0 or 1 that's acceptable...

This system is SERIOUSLY bottlenecked by its HDDs (no SSD) and it's GPU...

And this system most DEFINATELY does not need a 1000w PSU... particularly what is essentially a cheap and nasty one...

and unless you need it's advanced features like bitlocker, Win7 Ultimate is a MASSIVE waste of Cash...

I'd concur with you if I had to buy this gear, but I got most of it for free so I'm not too concerned about it :p
