Hi guys,
I was just wondering to pass a unit you need to get 50% right. For example i am doing biol1003 and:
----------------------------------------------------

Mid- semester tests 15%
End- semester tests 15%
Written scientific report 20%
Workshops
Peer feedback on draft report 4%
Case study presentation 10%
Case study participation 3%
HBonline prework tests 3%
-----------------------------------------------------
Say for example i get 10% in each semester exam, 15% in my report, and somehow it all adds up to 50%, I'll pass the unit right?
Just asking if i fail the exam but do well in the other assesment sections and it all adds up to at least 50 %, i'll still pass the unit.
Thanks

Some units require you to pass certain aspects (eg. the exam) to pass the course. If that's the case, it should say so on the UOS outline

Also another thing to take into account is even if you get 50%, all the marks are scaled. So if everyone else does a lot better than you, your 50% would get scaled down (not all uni's have scaling of final marks). Hope that makes sense.

I know this is a bit late, but you can't be scaled to fail in most courses. A raw mark of 50 will pass you.
