lol the second time i ever watched Parliament, She was hilarious.
lol the liberals are OWNING swan.

That's the thing, Swan is the weakest out of the party. He should be replaced, asap. Oh Gillard, she's so cool with those attacks on Workchoices, I mean she's still rocking that awful hairstyle(she needs to find a new hair stylist) and takes pride like a woman who was born with a penis :)

wilson tuckey is good comedy value. you get the conservative old guy without the insanity of bill heffernan.
this was the third day that gillard brought her recycling props. how much crap did the old government make to promote workchoices? of the new ministers, the best so far in parliament have been gillard, tanner and bowen. rudd has been ok, but a bit robotic. stephen smith seems too nervous. albanese is a bit annoying, and sawn, well, what can you say. to his credit though, today he actually seemed to answer one of turbull's questions.

The speaker's good. Light and funny. He seems to be favouring the government more than the first few days, but that's cool. Im just glad he can av a laff and doesnt wear the dickhead robes.
Brings a more Australian attitude to politics and debate.

I found his stance on supplementary questions today somewhat disturbing. Joe Hockey was right, and they should have been allowed in that instance. :(

The first Friday sitting of federal Parliament has led to such chaos that the Speaker suspended the proceedings for a 15-minute cooling off period.

The row erupted when Liberal MP Steve Ciobo moved that there should be a Question Time every Friday, despite the Government's rules that there will be no Question Times and no divisions taken on Fridays.

It led to the Coalition moving a motion of dissent against House of Representatives speaker Harry Jenkins.

Eventually, Mr Jenkins took the rare step of having him escorted out.

"Because of the gross disorderly conduct of the Member, I ask the sergeant to remove the Member," Mr Jenkins said.

Mr Jenkins ordered Mr Ciobo out of the chamber for an hour, and later suspended Parliament for 15 minutes.
Incidentally, the acting speaker just suspended the sitting again because Luke Hartsuyker - possibly the most irritating man in parliament - refused to leave the chamber after being directed to. Class act, everyone!

Luke Hartsuyker IS the most irritating man in parliament. Runner up probably goes to alexander downer, or christopher pyne.

Tsk tsk tsk. Naughty Libs.

Interestingly, for a party who are so dedicated to all this Aboriginal affairs stuff, they didn't give Kevin Rudd a lot of leniency considering what he was doing...

i dont think its that bad that he didnt turn up to parliament. from what albanese said, howard never used to turn up for backbenchers sessions either. i think the libs are more pissed off about the extra day without question time rather than the fact that he didnt turn up.

"Hawke told the
Sydney Morning Herald following his preselection in 2007 that he thinks Australia will move increasingly towards an American model of conservatismcapitalism and Christianity, and when they're blended it's a very powerful duo." and that "The two greatest forces for good in human history are captialism and Christianity, and when they're blended it's a very powerful duo." [1]

In 2005, Hawke made it known that he believes the Liberal Party of Australia to be the home of the right, and has claimed that "Nobody joins the Liberal Party to be left-wing. If you stand for compulsory student unionism, drug-injecting rooms and lowering the [homosexual] age of consent, you can choose the Greens, Labor or the Democrats." [14]

Rofl. What a real fuckjob.

Having met Hawke on one occasion (YL Christmas Party), i must say my opinion of him is favourable. Sure he is more socially conservative than oneself, but i could find little explaination for the reputation he seems to have earned. I did not find his ideas overly radical, and in terms of Alex Hawke the person, he is certainly no nutjob or anything.
Unfortunately other commitments prevented me from making it down to Canberra.

Brogden propositioned a fucking journalist and then acted surprised when it somehow made the media, he had no one to blame but himself.

Eveyone who met Ted Bundy in person thought that he was a charismatic, charming man as well. It is these types that poison the political system.

The ilk of Alex Hawke are the very reason that the Liberal Party is in such disarray, particularly at a state level. It is essential that men of the party machine have an attractive persona.

Aside from being politically active, what has he actually achieved in his life? What experiences have moulded him as person?

If the Liberal Party is to recover from its position, it must reposition itslelf as the party of true representation, which was one of the features of the early Howard Government. Members from all walks of life, not merely bred through the machinations of the party.

Alex Hawke epitomises this vermon that infects the Australian political landscape. Don't get me started on the ALP, as they are far worse than anything the Liberal Party could even aspire too.

Although the ALP experiences similar problems in terms of being overrun by party hacks, the key difference to their success is the relative functionality of the organisation itself.. The Liberal Party couldn't organise a local council campaign in its present form..
