Parking Fines, do they chase them up? (1 Viewer)

Hey

I just got a fine for parking without permit at Parramatta campus..but the fine notice was wet n got ripped, so i threw it away.

Do they chase up the fines they issue? or can i just ignore it and they wont do anything about it

Would they send another notice home or do i have to go n speak to security about it?

Can i just get away with not paying it?

umm, it's a legitimate fine from the State Debt Recovery Office - i got one last year.

its the same as a normal parking ranger ticket, security have nothing to do with it. the fine money goes to the state government.

if you don't pay it they increase the fine, and if you still don't pay it, they suspend your license.

probably best to get the fine in the mail (the reminder notice) and pay it asap.

just assumed since it's on campus it's within the uni's discretion like library fines

Ive read on here about people who got fines at UWS but never paid them and got away with it

Any info from people with first hand experience..

I know with other fines, they chase them up..

The parking infringement notices at UWS are enforced, with the registration details of the car being forwarded to the State Debt Recovery Office once the fine is issued. After this happens, there is no more discretion available at the University level.
