I'm just curious if anyone here plays Paradox games, like Victoria, Hearts of Iron 2, or Europa Universalis III. They're all basically massive scope world map games, which you can seemlessly transfer into each other to create a game that spans from 1187 until 1965. The games have truly massive scope - you can literally play any nation that existed at the time. From Bhutan to the Soviet Union, from Austria-Hungary to the United States of Central America.

Plus, any game where you can turn Texas into a Communist killing machine at Mexico and the US's expense is surely worth a try, no? A good player can change the world alot. But, the games have learning curves like cliffs.

For example; Hearts of Iron 2:

Australian liberated Europe

Australian occupied Japan

And Victoria:

Here I managed to so screw up the US that in twenty years, they went from the world's most liberal democracy to democratically voting in a dictatorship full of ultra-liberal loons.

EDIT: These are just screenshots from some of my own games.
