If you're typing > 60wpm, you'll need all ten fingers :)

If you're using a couple of fingers, you'll reach 30-40 wpm or thereabouts. (Net typing speed, taking into consideration the error percentage, with everything else, your gross typing speed in wpm would be about 25-30 wpm with a couple of fingers).

Yes :)
If you're so used to the way that you type, then it might be a little hard to "change" the style of typing.

For example, your index finger is supposed to be used to hit the E and R keys (typing tuition teaches it that way). But if you're happy to use your middle finger, then that's fine too.

Just see what works for you and how you can maximise your typing speed. (You might get cramps though on your left hand, hitting Q/W, A/S, and Z/X :))

u know, half the reason i havent learnt 2 type properly is coz of those keys!even though i barely use them! i hate trying to reach 4 them! and 4 the enter and backspace bars as well.

The proper technique is to use your pinky to hit Q, A and Z.
and for W, S, and X, you'll use your "ring" finger.

If you've practised and practised, and you're used to the way you type, and you feel that it's "fast enough" for you, then that's what you should leave it at. Work on the middle sections of the keyboard (for example the middle row, T's and N's and all of that).

:)

You mean half the time ;)
Or twice as much, in the same amount of time.

Double the workload, in the same time interval.
Same workload, in half the time it took previously :)
