id love the cruise to sail to vila, stay there for 2 nights, then go home.... cos ive been to noumea twice and hate it more and more , the more i think about it. its a disgrace. people are rude, everythings expensive, and theres nothing to see. fights over girls on cruises are stupid.... because really, theres 10 nights, just wait until the next night to have a go.... ohhhh thats rude, but unforuntaley for the females, they seem to like the attention and the guys are just too happy to give it to them.

well i've been on a cruise..........but i can't tell u exactly how much spending money to take casue my parents paid..........but i guess around $500- $600 at the very most........i can tell u how the money works...........every1 has a cruise card and its the only way u can purchase things........u can put money on the card at the pursers office....they have atm facilites, visa, mastercard and all the rest........they also can change your money into the islander money...............i was the one who said the pay day is 9th of september.......thts wht i was told, as it needs to be three months before the cruise leavers........so the first cruise would be every earlyer at the end of this month....

1. spendin money.. definatly over 600 bucks... i took a grand.. spent 200 bucks at the islands.. mainly vanuatu.. and the rest on alcohol.. if you like to drink.. experimenting with new cocktails.. yopu definatly need around 100 bux a night.. last yr it was 7 or 8 bux for a cocktail..and 14 bux for a double shot or the strong ones... with heaps of shots!

2.there is no atm there buddy... when you get on board..you recive a card.. which looks like a creidt card.. and there is a pursors office.. and you can put money on it whenever.. word of advice dont put all your money all at once.. coz if you loose your card.. someone else can take it and use it to buy drinks.. well anythin realyy.. you dont use money to buy anyhting on the cruise.. every thing goes on your card.. pizza, ice cream etc..

at the pursors office as well you can exchange currency moneyz when you go to the islands..

hope this helps u a bit :D:D:D:D:D

i'll be bringing heaps with me like 1-2 thousand at the very least just incase something drastic happenes.......but i feel that if i budget 5-6 hundred tht should do me..........i wouldn't be buying drinks form the bar all the time cause don't they sell bottles duty free i could start my self off with that and finish myself in the bar.........i think it would save me heaps (lol i no i must sound stingy)

nah the dont sell bottles duty free... well they do but u cant drikn them there, as well as when you go to vanuatu and the other islands.. u can buy duty free.. but cant open it... the ship keeps it for you... they deliver it to you on the day that you get back into sydney harbour..

and i doubt 500 bux will get u far ;)

ok... read what i say carefully.... ive done the schoolies cruise twice and i know the tricks...

drinks are reasonably prices.... non alcoholic drinks are dirt cheap, like 1.50 for a coke etc... but who wants to drink alcohol right>??? alcoholic drinks are reasonably priced if anything slightly cheaper than what you would pay in the clubs....

the trick is to buy duty free alcohol, then drink it in your room and mix it there so your drunk before you hit the nightclubs and dont have to spend much... they say to give your alcohol up when you board but just dont give it to them, they wont search you just sneak it in.... the easiest thing to do is fill a 2 litre water bottle with vodka etc....

if your not doing any tricks, then you will need 100 bucks a day for days at sea and 200 for days in port at least.. both times i went on the cruise i spent about 1500 each time.... but we had a hell of a time....

as for drinking every second night... why???? youve been building up to this cruise all year so why waste half of it to save a couple hundred bucks!!!
they have drink specials too, like half price shotties and discounted cocktails so look out for them.... this year they are not going to vila thats a shame very cheap booze in vila, noumea is a hole....

so yeh...... and also, whatever you do..... dont goto the casino..... the pokies are programmed to pay out much less than normal and the tables are suicide on a schoolies cruise....

on a typical day we would spend...

food(ice cream, pizza, etc...) $20
alcohol (from dinner time onwards, roughly 15 standrad drinks is enough to get you tipsy) $80

theres ya hundred bucks

then add cash youll spend at the ports...

so bring $1500, just to be safe.... remembering theres a chance youll need to have the sea-sickness shot, which i definately recommend. it costs $190 bucks but you will never feel better for having it, and never feel worse for not having it...

there are NO atm facilties on board, you wither bring cash or credit card, nothing in betweeen... atm cards are not accepted.....

bingo is another expense, its harmless fun..... and internet usage is 20 odd bucks for 20 minutes i think.....

a lot of people on my cruises ran out of money once we left noumea for the sail home to sydney, and that sucked cos the dance floors emptied and people were staying in their room, and it ruined it a bit...

just make sure u bring plenty of cash u dont wanna waste this once in a lifetime partyy

i guess .......... u have convinced me ................ i need 2 budget more ............... if i say $100 a night thts = $900.............. i wouldn't need a great deal more for ports only noumea cause the other two isle of pines and poum havn't got anywhere to spend money......... now i think of it $500 only gives me $56 and $600 only gives me $66 tht simple isn't substantial to have a good time.......... i think i'll be looking at the $900 .........i'm going to look at it like this i'm paying $2550 for nine nights (cruise ticket of $1650 and spending money of $900)........ i rekon thts resonable
