As for music i don't care if its underground or mainstream as long as i like it, then its fine. The bottom track for stuff imo is how dope it gets.

I liked Marshall Mathers, but even back then he had that "if you don't like my shit then you can suck my dick" song.

Now, every single one of his recent songs have been even lower than that. It's disgusting.

I do admit that he does deserve credit for the few half-decent songs he released.

i'm sure lennon wrote some novelty songs in the beatles. can't think of any because im not a beatles expert but it couldn't have just been ringo writing all the children like novelty songs.

lennon deserves credit for his songwriting. but i think he stands out on the "genius" list when compared to the others.

edit: just to be clear i meant he stands out because i consider mozart and bach to be in a totally different league that lennon doesn't deserve to be in.

i totally agree. but i dislike a LOT of lennon's material post beatles.

apart from imagine i can think of only one other song i like. Instant karma.

in popular music lennon is definetly up in the top as far as songwriters go.

but no songwriter from popular music comes close to the classical composers and what they did with music. just my opinion here.
