Since they changed the HSC English course from studying 'modern' english to 'post-modern' english, there has been very little positive feedback among teachers or students. I believe the idea for a compolsory back-to-basics english course as part of a national certificate has a lot of merit, allowing the interested students the choice to deconstruct texts and analyse values, but ensuring all first have a basic grasp of the national language.
NSW HSC English is too subjective, too underfined and too politically correct.
Unfortuntely, i doubt they'll be changing much in the next 6 days
