To be completely honest i'm annoyed by the media coverage of this whole incident. I cannot see why people are proud to see the death of someone. When has the celebration of someones demise ever been a good thing, for this shows the clear failure in the attempts to reduce "terrorism" as it has been an utter embarassment thus far.

killing obl wont stop terrorism, and they'll easily put a new person in charge, but cmon, the guy is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocents (including muslims apparently, what's the deal with this?) so obvs there some sort of celebration at the news of his death.

This is the entire back page of the Daily Telegraph.

To those saying 'an eye for an eye makes the world blind' go tell that to someone who lost friends or family in the USS cole bombing, 9/11, the Madrid bombings, the Bali Bombings, 7/7 and other terrorist attacks attempted and successful by AQ members.

We send a strong message with this retaliation, that if you fuck with the west, regardless of how long it takes, we will hunt you down and we will fucking kill you.

This won't end terrorism by any stretch of the imagination, but this is a day of closure for many.

To compare the celebration of people in the middle east to the death of civilians on 9/11 with the celebration of US citizens after OBL was killed and assume they are the same is an indication of serious fucking mindlessness on the part of the person making that comparison.

One is the celebration of the death of a mass murdering fuckbag, the other is the celebration of the death of thousands of civilians. To say the two are equivalent is such a disgustingly ignorant and idiotic statement, it defies logic and beggars belief.

The world is a better place without this scumbag, and rightly so.

The real story now is what's going to happen with Pakistan. The undercurrent of taking Pakistan's nuclear weapons and overthrowing their government/assassinating jihadis is starting. Definitely not a good time to be a Pakistani.

LOLNESS.

Listen you ass wipes, ill say this very clearly, Sheikh Osama lives on in the hearts of the Muslim Ummah! We will one day take over Europe, then lodge coordinated attack on Mainland America. Then, Allah willing, we will come to Australia and take its resources.

We are one, soldiers of Allah.

Yes, I AM BACK.

The islamic world continues to live only at the whim of the west. What paltry scraps of weaponry the ummah could collect to attack the west are but sticks against our grotesque expanse of death-dealing weaponry and machines.

Even a single nuclear warhead obtained from the remnants of the old soviet union would be but a one time attack on the west, an attack which would be met with furious anger like the excoriating rage of an angered god. Regardless of how you see your 'allah', the west is the true god in this scenario, one capable of destroying the history of your civilisation in a single button press.

Again, the islamic world exists merely because we tolerate it.

The Pakistani people will become sick of the factional fighting between the terrorist groups and the west puppets and will turn to a popular, unifying figure to lead them into a happy age

what i find extraordinary is this

an enormous mansion arises out of nowhere. It has no authorised phone and internet connection. It is fortified. Locals say they never saw the people inside. They burnt the rubbish inside the house, rather than taking it out.

This is suspicious enough at first glance from any ordinary civilian's point of view, yet the bloody military compound less than a kilometre away did not notice anything for 5 years? suss much?
