I studied Pharmacy first year there and lived on campus. The old dorms are very dodgy. The doors aren't soundproof, so be careful what you do at night. And try to keep your room clean because you get bugs in a lot during the warmer seasons. You don't get decent reception for your mobile if your room is downstairs and the showers are very.....grimy (the toilets are cleaned every day though).
The kitchen are cleaned every week but tends to be teared up by students, especially during bar night. I'd go for the new ones. They were built last year and haven't been used yet. Of course, the state of your living quarters mainly depends on the students, which I have little faith in.
The Uni has rapidly improved since last year though. Building a new library, new residence and dentistry lab. I have no idea what else is going on now since I transferred.
