exactly what did Faraday do? coz im still clueless.
and 1/2 equation?? what did you pplz put???
* his law of electrolysis- related the quantity of product formed at the electrode to the voltage passed thru the cell- allowed electrolysis to be quantitated and costed
* related the voltage that passed thru a cell to the valency of elements
* used terms such as anion, cation and electrolyte

thats all i could think of

I wanted there to be stuff on sulfate-reducing bacteria i studied that heaps. oh well i hated the chemical tests i didnt study them much. What did people get for the way to detect chloride ions, i hope i got that right??
add AgNO3 and get a white precipitate, then add HNO3 and the precipitate stays

yeah, but in both cells, oxidation still occurs at the anode and reduction at the cathode.

and for the oxidation, I used the:

2OH- -> 1/2O2 + H2O +2e-

added 2H+ to both sides to get:

H2O -> 1/2O2 + 2H+ + 2e-
You can not use that one!!!
btw-i think that one is only for acidic environments

Cause if you look at the table oxygen is added, so you have to find the water eqns where only water is on one side.

But if you did use this eqn with the 1/2Br2(aq) one, then the water one would be the cathode reaction.

what about the pottassium? doesnt K-> K[2+] + 2e[-] in an electrolytic cell?

i went fairly average.. how does chem get scaled normally? - like if u get bout 80% will ur mark go up by much?

hmmz thankz!!
but i still dont see the impact of our understanding of electrolysis. i dont think i ever will
oh wells chem is over!!

no because K will only reduce at the cathode in this case water got in the way

Not in this one as the water has a higher number so it gets reduced instead.

is it okay if you put barium nitrate instead barium ion? for reagent.

this test was tricky, hope its not the same for physics, cos i am counting on these 2 subjects

Yep i did 4-5 pages on that one ... hope it was not just bullshit!
yea same, but i started talking about stainless steel and for some reason then went on to talk about corrosion prevention =\

hopefully i have the right answer in there somewhere lol
