Can anyone give me an insight into the TAFE?

What to expect/what not to expect, and so on? I'm hoping to do Digital media Cert. IV. (and am traveling an extremely long way from home to do so. :p)

I did design elements for a year there so I think you'd prolly be in the same block. It's the old block, rooms are blah. I had a friend who did computer animation and I think she used apple computers or something. She hated them. The old building isn't too flash, but it's alright... Dunno what else..

It's really close to the station/shopping center. :p

Then... Does anyone know exactly what sort of 'strands' this course at Hornsby offers? I put Hornsby down as first preference, because West Wollongong didn't offer the strand (digital video) that I wanted. Instead, graduates from that course get a specialisation in web design, which I am NOT good at, so, makes sense. :p

I'm doing a Fine Arts course at Hornsby TAFE and I'm enjoying it so far. The facilities are good and the teachers are excellent.

Yeah they do use apple computers. I've only done a 2d imaging module that was compulsory but apparently apple computers are best when you're more focused on design - the software comes as a bulk and it's easier to use and more beneficial if I remember correctly.

It's quite a distance for me too but it was the closest location that offered Fine Arts.

I guess you've looked at the website? http://www.tafe.nsw.edu.au/

Sorry I'm not able to help much. Why don't you contact the campus for more info? Good luck!

I am 1 week from completing my web design course at hornsby tafe. Jarrad and Matt (teachers) are great and helped me heaps! It helps when your taught by teachers who work in the web industry full time.

I thought the course would be all design, but there is around 50/50 code to design. Learnt heaps!
