odd/even functions (1 Viewer)

So i'm doing harder curve sketching, and in the part where you determine whether the function is odd/even/neither, i have been taught two ways by two different teachers and unsure of which one to use

Method1:
F(x)
F(-x)
-F(x)

Method2:
F(x)
F(-x)
-F(-x)

For method two, everytime i attempt to obtain -F(-x), it is different to what my teacher gets....help please !

This is what I do:

1. f(-x)

2. Does it match with -f(x), or is it exactly the same as f(x)?

3. Acquire odd/even or neither.

Yep, odd functions is f(-x) = -f(x), NOT -f(-x).
