Too many people in the US go to college, but too many employers require a degree. Have B.A. holders actually gained have some valuable piece of knowledge in their college education (that they did/could not have gained in high school) that puts them above just high school graduates in terms of employability? Or is it just used by businesses as a filter for below-average intelligence?

Apparently employers aren't allowed to use real screening tests. So they use one that takes years out of someone's life and puts them tens thousands of dollars in debt.
