<a href="http://www.cbs.com/primetime/numb3rs">Numb3rs</a> is a drama on CBS about an FBI agent who recruits his mathematical-genius brother to help the Bureau solve a wide range of challenging crimes in Los Angeles. There was a WGA strike on from Nov. 5, 2007 - Feb. 12, 2008 and Numb3rs supported the strike which forced the CBS into reruns during season 4.

The star of Numb3rs, David Krumholtz, picketed and went on youtube about it.

Season 4 was disrupted as follows by the WGA strike:

Season 4 was supposed to have 24 episodes. Seasons end in May to coincide with May sweeps. So due to the WGA strike they were only able to have 18 episodes in season 4.

Season 5 started on October 3, 2008 and finished on May 15, 2009 with 23 episodes.

A new season 6 started in September 2009.

It's not just Numbers (I refuse to spell with with the number 3) that's suffering that, it's pretty much all current television shows on account of the writer's strike.

I never bothered watching the show because I figured that being a maths student it would either bore or annoy me. Mum likes it, though.

Is it worth watching?

Personally, I support the writers. I like my shows, but I also like people to be paid for their work.

If you want to watch it, DVDs of seasons 1-4 are available as are downloads of season 5 episodes 1-23 and season 6 episodes 1-16. The downloads are available shortly after they are shown in America on CBS.

After the end of the WGA strike, season 4 resumed on April 4, 2008 and a new season 5 started on October 3, 2008. Season 4 now has 18 episodes.

It's not the best cop show out there, but it's unique, and I don't mind it. Shame what happened at the end of Season 4, though.

The last episode of season 6 was aired on March 12, 2010 on CBS, but it is rumoured that this will be the last season of Numb3rs.
