you gotta hand it to benji for playing the whole second half with a fractured cheekbone.
You gotta hand it to Barrett for playing the whole game after being violently sick and not eating anything since Tuesday.

Dude, I had a bit of an argument with you near the end of last season. How about we don't get off to a bad start at the beginning of 2006?

I suggest that you either watch more closely or read statistics to find out extra.

Admittedly, Barrett played a shit game. Marshall also played crap. Here are head-to-head comparisons:

Tries: Barrett 0, Marshall 0 -- tie
Try Assists: Barrett 1, Marshall 1 -- tie
Field Goals: Barrett 1, Marshall 0 -- Barrett
Total Metres: Barrett 95, Marshall 101 -- Marshall
Line Breaks: Barrett 0, Marshall 0 -- tie
Line Break Assists: Barrett 2, Marshall 1 -- Barrett
Tackles: Barrett 4, Marshall 7 -- Marshall
Mistackles: Barrett 6, Marshall 1 -- Marshall
Errors: Barrett 1, Marshall 5 -- Barrett

So Barrett and Marshall effectively tied each other out of the game. But because Wests had the ball in the last couple of minutes and Marshall put on a good move then, he got all the attention.

Anyway. Last season, Dogs played us first round, SBW got injured, their season was over. This season, Wests play us first round, Fulton and Marshall injured, their season is halfway to over if their performances without Marshall are anything to go by.

And it sucks so much because both times, it is OTHER teams who get to benefit from this.

Haha.

"And in other news, Brett Finch gave the worst performance possibly EVER seen by a hooker in this afternoon's Round 1 NRL clash between South Sydney Rabbitohs and Sydney Roosters .. "

Some people on BOS tipping competition have 4/4!!

1. 4 bron12
1. 4 cheyneo
1. 4 maverick990

Congratulations to those people so far ..

Melbourne defeated Warriors: 22-16

I feel sorry for Ivan Cleary, 1st year at Warriors and he has to start at -4 points.

Man, Sean Hampstead sucked major wang last night. Congratulations to the Panthers and their 14th player. I couldn't keep count of how many times a glaringly obvious offside wasn't called (actually, I can...it was 5). It's like he was allergic to blowing the whistle when we were in possesion.

The Dogs put themselves in a difficult position by rushing things though. It's like, you're only 6 points behind...there's no reason for superhuman play the balls that get knocked on or miracle passes that don't stick. Hopefully we'll be more composed next week. Holdsworth looks like a bright prospect.

Rooters 6 - 6 Souths. Woot go Souths.

Buddy Gordon takes the field for the injured Adam MacDougall. Shillington replaces Tupou in the starting line-up for the Roosters.

0 min: NEWS And we're underway in the first half! Beautiful sundrenched day here in Sydney.

7 min: TRY Sydney Roosters
Braith Anasta throws a cut-out pass to Ryan Cross who beats the outside Rabbitohs men and finds Anasta back on the inside who gives it to Minichello to score his first for the year.
Roosters 6-0

13 min: TRY South Sydney Rabbitohs
Walker makes up for some sloppy handling earlier with a great individual try. He grubbers through and puts pressure on Shillington who he strips the ball from, then barges over next to the posts, carrying Mini. He converts his own try easily.
6 all.

21 min: TRY South Sydney Rabbitohs
As Walker looks trapped with the ball on the last, he finds Polglase who bursts through the middle and chips to the wing for Gordon who scores a sensational try out wide. Walker converts from the sideline in grand fashion.
Rabbitohs 12-6

27 min: TRY South Sydney Rabbitohs
The Rabbits move the ball wide and find Rigon who presses the line before dropping it back behind him for Sutton to pick up and score and easy try, stunning the Roosters. Walker knocks it over and the Rabbitohs are playing a very enthusiastic and exciting brand of footy.
Rabbitohs 18-6

28 min: NEWS Roberts kicks out on the full from the restart, giving Souths a penalty at halfway.
