Make sure you don't do that mistake next time in the HSC when it matters.

First Of All You Stop Being So Shift-Happy. It's Pretty Annoying To Read.

Second of all, you take in this quote:

"Don't worry about the future, for the fact that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubblegum"

Just learn from the mistakes you've made from this test, and make sure you do not make the same mistakes again.

Hey

Some athlete cant qaulify for long jump, its 0.2m less then the requirement, he improves his jump by 4.2% and its now 0.1m better then the requirement calculate the qualifying distance.

4.2% = 0.3
1% = 0.3/4.2
100% = 0.3/4.2 x 100

edit: Subtract 0.1 from the result of the 3rd line.

That analogy is so true.
Keep practicing now and keep learning from your mistakes and you should improve heaps for the HSC.

My answer's true too: a small amount - but that doesn't mean you have to let a year 11 exam make you worry.

It's 0.3/4.3x100 - 0.1

I know thats what you meant, but if you scroll up, you'll find that Derivative thought the question was an analogy to your situation.

QTF.

Kung-Fu Panda! :)

Don't worry. I don't think I did too well in my Mathematics 2 Unit Preliminary, either. Right now I'm too busy studying for other subjects to worry.

lol if u did it today, then how do u know that you failed?? did u calculate it in the exam or something?? YA NEVER KNOW!!! u could get it back and be like"oh yay!! 98%!! just what i expected, isn't life grAnD!!!!"

calm down.

go see the counsellor, ask her if u can squeeze the putty that she has locked in her cupboard and feel the tension rush from your body... aah.

BUT... nothing can be changed now except sneaking into the maths staffroom, stealing ur paper and changing those simultaneous equations. so yeah. just sit back, laugh and let the good times of internal assessment not counting towards your higher school certificate rollllllllllllllllllll.............

Let i be initial jump, x = requirement

i = x - 0.2

1.042i = x + 0.1

x = i + 0.2

1.042i = i + 0.2 + 1
0.42i = 0.3
i = 5/7

5/7 = x - 1/5

x = 32/35m
