ok, my bio lab is Thurs 2-5
i will have the same timeslot next semester

my question is am i likely to have the same demonstrator, or do they usually rotate the time slots and stuff?

i know for the next 7 weeks (whatever it is called...still part of this semester) i will have the same demonstrator.
however, will i have the same demonstrator next semester if i chose the same timeslot (its for a follow-on subject)

I doubt it has been worked out yet.

If you have a student who's doing nothing but research, then possibly. If you have a student who's timetable will vary from semester to semester like yours, probably not.

When I did SENG1120 following on from SENG1110, none of the tutors were the same and the SENG1120 tutors are different again this semester (repeating 'cause I failed).

coz, the demonstrators are full on employees, they also give lectures and so on (whatever they are called)...and then theres the helper peoples who are older students...

There would be a first year lab co-ordinator, they will not change.
Lab demonstrators usually switch around a bit because they will be doing different subjects in second semester, maybe a 2000 or 3000 level course. But Cyph is correct, they would not have decided yet.

And Cyph, i had the same demonstrator (cannot say tutor as they are passing on other peoples work) for both seng1110 and seng1120, Joshua Marshall; the 'AW Roberts Award for Ongoing Excellence' recipient. Have you had him?

what happens when you have the first yr bio lab coordinator as your demonstrator (ie, gary is my demonstrator, but he is also the lab coordinator)

Yeap, he certainly knows his shit. I had him for SENG1110 in first semester 2003. We could have been in the same class. I think my tutorial first semester was Thursday, 11am-1pm.

What did you get for SENG1110 and SENG1120?

i'm pretty sure that they will rotate the time slots, they like to share the work out

I got a Distinction in both 1110(almost HD) and 1120.

If he is the first year lab co-ordinator you will probably see him in second semester. Your only hope is if is invlved with a second semester subject (other that your 2nd bio subject) and it clashes with your chosen lab time, but you couldnt plan it.

hmmm...fingers crossed...like dont get me wrong, he knows his bio and all that, he is a good demonstrator...but if i have to spend another semester in the same room as him, i dont know if i am strong enough to resist telling him what i think of him

you will get your chance when you fill out subject evaluations, although it is marked by computer the secretary looks at them all and records anything additional that is written on them e.g. your dislike of certain demonstrators

ive done a few for individual lecturers...but i usually dont mind them...hopefully there is one 'the lab coordinator is a bastard- do you agree'

you can go to the lb of your choice the first week to see who your demonstrator is,,, then just change if you have gary... but then again, you shouldnt have to just cos of him
