Hi, okay ive got my 2ndary and primary research, i just dont know how to put them into chapter 1,2 and 3.
are they all supposed to be different themes? help i haveNO IDEA! this is my topic: Individuality or conformist, our mask for society.
I am trying to explain how we are putting on a show for society as an 'individualist', but in reality, we are conformist, all trying to prove to society that we are 'unique'.
Here is an exact extract from my text to get a better understanding:
I intend to understand what influences our growth and development into individuals, what aspects of Nature and Nurture define us, and the difference of adolescent growth between genders.

Evidently, posing the question, that “in our strive to become unique, are we becoming just like everybody else
?”

My central hypothesis is, that in our subconscious mind where we are trying to be different and live life how ‘we want to’, we are just becoming exactly the opposite of what we aim to prove to society.

But what we do not realise is, that to be a true individualist, we must not worry about what others think, as this is our aim, we not only delude ourselves to think this, we think we are fooling others, but it is impossible to lie to oneself.

Some info on your PIP/research would be useful if you want help. There is no defined structure to follow for the central material as there is for the intro, log and conclusion- how you choose to structure your chapters (if you even want chapters!) depends entirely on how you feel your information could be best presented.

Ok, well this is just a suggestion based on the info you've provided. When i did my PIP, i had several definite 'focus questions' that helped explore/answer my overall topic. I decided the best way to structure my PIP was to spend a chapter on each of these focus questions, tying them in to my overall topic and using each of them as kind of 'gateways' to the next focus question.

Looking at what you've given, it seems these are your 'focus questions':
- what influences our growth and development into individuals
- what aspects of Nature and Nurture define us
- the difference of adolescent growth between genders.

Thats one way you could do it, but then you would be turning your cross cultural comparison into a chapter (im assuming its the 3rd point), which is a big no no.

Well, i mean the markers aren't going to fail you for doing it that way, but you really should be integrating your cross cultural comparison through your entire PIP- it will most definitly show in your marks if you don't. Generally, whenever you bring up a big point you should consider the cross cultural aspect of it.

Hey, I was just wondering maycat, in relation to what you said - I have done a chapter that primarily focuses on the cross-cultural component of my PIP, but I have also integrated it within other chapters. My cross-cultural comparison is cross-generational and the chapter that mainly deals with it is aimed at exploring government policies at the time and their socialisation impact (i.e how does government policy affect tolerance) on individuals... sorry that probably doesn't make any sense but I'm sort of having a panic attack that I've done it wrong. I am definitely incorporating my cross-generational component throughout, however, due to the nature I feel as if I need a chapter to explore it in depth. Do you think that's ok?

So long as you have integrated your cross cultural comparison throughout you're fine, its people who just spend one chapter on their cross cultural comparison and never talk about it anywhere else who don't do as well.
