I'm doing English Advanced right now and I think I'm failing it.
I got 2 high Cs and 1 low B this year and I think I did bad in my yearlies.
I never got Cs before (I used to go to a different school) and always got high Bs.
Apparently English is the stronger subject of my school.

But I'm not sure whether I should move to standard or remain in Advanced.
I think I'm capable of improving but all these marks I'm getting are so disheartening
Help?

If you don't feel as though you can do well enough in Advanced, then you should drop. If you feel confident that you can improve and do well, then stay.

dont drop to standard !! stay with advanced because those marks right now are gonna be better than what you may get in standard. i have heard many people warn others so i am warning you, never go standard!!!!! the scaling is very bad even if you do super good (i think) so yea just improve!

Stay away from standard English , it is relatively easier to get a band 5 or 6 advanced then standard..::

I'd say remain in Advanced, yes standard is not worth it due to above reasons. Dropping down doesn't mean 'less work' or like it is an easier course because at the end of the day, you are still writing for 3 modules and belonging despite doing advanced or standard. Aim for a mid B in your yearlies, and by term 4 aim for high B's. I'd say it's worth it to get a private tutor by your first HSC asessment if you're still not going that well, but otherwise in the mean time you could ask the teacher for sample essays/ways to improve your essay writing as that's what is crucial for the HSC english course (it's just only the texts in standard is different to advanced, and I doubt that it's any much easier than the advanced texts).

but don't drop to standard, it may affect your ATAR especially if you aren't doing that well in it due to its poor aligning

High C's and low B's is completely normal. Stay in Advanced english if you believe you have a good cohort.
