Im not saying forced, im saying everyone will have dreams for their kids, that doesnt necessarily mean youll force them into living out your dreams ( this is what slide seems to think ). Surely youd prefer your kids to get into a line of profession that you respect rather than becoming a garbage man or a hooker ? ( extreme example, but generally highlights the idea)

Also, Im from Bangladesh, which is next door to India. But knowing you guys, youd probably see the same skin colour and assume were all Indian, as i get that from people all the time. We have a very large community here in Australia, and you know what ? 98% of the parents are doctors. The 2 % left are engineers. I dont know anyone that works in house keeping .. there are some taxi drivers, but they were originally engineers and their kids are in some pretty flashy courses now.

Its a small sample of the immigration population. Regardless of size, it conveyed my point, in that, the other person was saying that all immigrants had to offer was house keeping and taxi drivers, and i used an example ( my own community ) to show that wasnt true. One girl was Russian, another was Greek. In my course now theres an Italian guy who pretty much had a melt down because he failed his eco exam a his mum is an eco teacher so she wanted to see his results. I remember you saying you were english, one of my close friends from canberra is english and she was forced to do law by her dad because he was a magistrate and he didnt like the idea of her doing journalism. He guilted her into taking the course and now she hates it... Like i said, you cant say certain traits only occur in one culture. Every culture has good and bad people. To realize that, you really have to get out and meet a diverse group of people.

Would that make you happy ? Where did i say pressuring kids was a good thing ??? You said Europeans dont care about what their kids do when it comes to education, i just showed you some that i know who also impose pressure on their kids. You said it was just indians and asians , im showing you it happens in all cultures. There are some indians who dont care about education at all. There are others who care way too much. Same goes for Australians, Europeans, Asians, and every other country in the world. its called diversity and its what keeps the economy running.
