Well, technically speaking, you can do any of the courses as long as you know the things that were in Music 2. Music 1 was the only course offered at our school, and I went through this same problem when I started searching for uni courses, and my career advisor (and the career advisor at Kings) both said to me that I am more than capable of doing any music course, even if I didn't do Music 2. It's only ASSUMED knowledge ... They don't refuse entry if you haven't, they just ASSUME you know what they are talking about.

There are other ways in also. They accept AMEB qualifications(though you must grade 8 in classical, grade 4 advanced in contemporary.)

Hi there

Southern Cross University also offers a B Contemporary Music degree which only requires Music 1, depends what type of music you want to study and future directions?? Assumed knowledge can mean a few things though. FYI I studied at SCU and am now a secondary music teacher who only studied Music 1 (used to be called Course 1).

Cheers

So what exactly are the requirements for becoming a music teacher.

What would I have to do?

Say if I'd only done Music 1 and aren't graded or anything?

Not bother?
