How did everyone go this semester with their marks?

Feel free to share your marks or grade range (if you're shy), thoughts and comments on the units you have completed and any other advice or information to others

I'll begin:

LAW109 Criminal Law: 82 (one of the workload heaviest subjects I've come across in 3 semesters of university)

BUSL100 Global Legal Frameworks for a Sustainable Planet (also a Planet unit: 77 (not a bad subject, might be bit boring for some, but I found it quite enjoyable. Trish (lecturer) is quite funny)

MKTG101 Marketing Fundamentals: 75 (honestly hated it after a while, found it was a bit of common sense + BS to make it look and smell academic)

MUS205 Introduction to Vocal studies: 71 (fun unit, could have done better if I wasn't too reserved, was a people's unit for me)

I didn't know MQ used WAM. From what i've heard, they give you an SNG

Do u guys know the difficulties of ACCG1B, Marketing and Eco111 ?

Some say 1B is harder than alot of 2nd and 3rd year accounting subjects. i didnt have much difficulty with it though (got HD). marketings the sort of subject u dont need to buy the textbook for (got D). Microeconomics is still one of the most challenging subjects ive done to date (im in 3rd year now) but mostly because i suck at graphs (got CR)

ok thanks for the response. Ive to work harder for AccG1B and eco i guess. Marketing i heard is alot like bba102 and ISYS100 i heard was a gpa booster

still burning over my shit 1A mark, went from 81 to 71 shoulda grade appealed. oh well just have to work harder

in 1A your pre-final grade isnt a great indication of what you end up with. firstly its a 60% final so the majority of weighting did come from your final. Secondly u have 2 x 5% class test that would give the only real indication of how u should have gone in the final. what did u get in the class tests?

68 in both, guess i didnt work hard enough. my friends pre final was around 90 and he ended up with 84. but he did destroy the class tests too.

i dont think i worked consistently enough for a D in 1A, i focused more on Stat and Acst.
Also do i have a practical every week for 1B (hopefully not since theyre on saturdays)

@ChrisAC since u got a HD in ACCG1B, do u have any tips to succeed in 1B?

see the 68 is alot closer to the 71 that you got. basically your pre-final is inflated by the fact that 37.5% of the pre-final mark is determined by the fact that you were disciplined enough to do homework (alot of people just copy or w/e) and idk what assignment you had to do but 1A was pretty basic. 1B assignment is a report more challenging

pretty sure 1B just had a 2 hour tut

anyway i wouldnt worry my mark in 1B was higher than 1A - least you know what to expect in an accounting course now. 80 in ACST is really solid i know alot of people that failed that course

not really for 1b in particular - like u said just be consistant during the year. like i said people find 1B challenging so i guess put more focus on it. in accounting in particular finals are generally predictable based off previous final exams, and most of the time class tests as well. What i like to do is ask friends and/or people i meet who did the course in the previous semester to hand me the final/class test AND answers from ilearn from their previous semester (most courses just keep everything in ilearn after the semester ends) so you can do them and then see if you are right. All finals are on the library website but there are no answers so then u gotta go to the trouble to go to consultations to check the answers blah blah - too much effort.

to get HD i just worked harder, i was kinda angry i got 84 in 1A so close to HD - so i made sure i got a HD in 1B. Also, u wanna make sure u understand 1B. 1A introduced u to really general concepts, 1B introduces u to stuff that if you dont understand during 1B, u will have real trouble during 2nd year (esp ACCG224 which in my opinion is the hardest core accg subject). Also ACCG200 feels like 50% of the course is revision of 1B, so an easy D/HD there if you understand 1B in the first place

econ110 - 86 (marked harder than expected)
acst152 - 88 (expected 80~ after hard finals)
math132- 95 (scaled up i think)
stat171 - 95 (easy)

Well I only enrolled today, but I got 5 exemptions and enrolled in two subjects so....

I'll be taking ACST101 and BUSL250 this semester. I wanted to do Math123 but it had 4 lectures a week and there was no free tutes and I was like thats not worth it.

One of my exemptions was for a people unit, so i was happy with that as I just couldn't decide what one sounded least stupid

Easiest unit alive, lol i doubt you'd even need to buy the textbook.
