Mehh

I didn't choose accounting as my major because I purely suck at it. I'm not going to brag and say I do an accounting major when I know i'd probably barely pass all 8 subjects involved in that particular major.

When i did Accounting for Business as a core business subject in first year I don't know how I got a distinction, but I am never ever going to put myself through that pain.

I'm currently enrolled in Human Resource Management and I'm loving it! Completely loving it. Every Organisation has a Human Resource Department and I've spoken to industry professionals such as those from FREEHILLS law firm who told me that Human Resources is in demand.

I've even managed to secure a position with Sony Australia. Yeah marketing was an option but when i saw the statistics involved that was a no no for me.. When it comes to numbers I'm not compatible. I also have a close friend who is in her final year of a Business/Science degree and she completely hates Marketing, she's doing it as her business major and she regrets it! I guess everybody is different though.

Quite the opposite, as you'd be more employable given that you'd qualify for entry to the CA Program/CPA.

If you do a single finance major, you'd only do 1 more subject in finance that if you did a finance/accounting double major.
I'm at USyd and for CA/CPA you need to do even some commercial subjects and heaps of acct subjects, i don't know if i fulfill this, I probably wont if i double major.

But I'm trusting the two are closely related, it seems like this.

Im a Usyd, and the CA/CPA qualification seems to involve a lengthy list of subjects that wouldnt get to be done, in my opinion, in a double major - there's even commercial law subjects. (makes it harder since i do law and it takes up some of my commerce units)

Though I trust acct is closely related to finance, it seems like it.
