Re: Excel vs. Macquarie Revision Guides

What would be better is that if you have both Macquarie AND Excel to colloborate and compare with in times of exams.

Re: Excel vs. Macquarie Revision Guides

i think macquarie ones are better

macquarie guides are more easier to read, it is more stuctured and the information is summarised in a way that you can easily understand it.

Re: Excel vs. Macquarie Revision Guides

Personally, I despise using Excel. Books without solid structure really put me off. Haven't had the time to look at Macquarie in depth, but I feel like the source questions may be quite misleading and not indicative of real HSC exams.

What I do for my notes: I summarise my teacher's notes and use some textbooks to add to them. lol My teacher's pretty brilliant, so there really isn't a need to, but one does become paranoid. xD

What modules are you doing? You're bound to be getting many textbooks based on what modules you do.

There are, its just that the depth of the knowledge that they give is questionable. You can get the Oxford one, the HTA Study Guide, Macquarie (more a study guide but still good) and others as well I guess :)

Ken Webb's good, I think he's got two. Anne McCallum's Evidence of War (or whatever its called) is pretty good as well for sourcework.

Hm, is the HTA Modern History Study Guide available only via the HTA website? Or can it be bought at common bookstores?

only via the HTA website. Ask your teacher, he/she's bound to be a HTA member and they get discount prices on books.

Sarajevo to Versailles is pretty good too.

There are so many options for each of the studies (National, personality and Modern world) that you'll need to ask your teacher. They should be able to tell you what you're doing next year by now.

I'd definitely recommend the HTA study guide. It was my absolute saviour in modern this year. I got it from some weird textbook place in miranda, didn't order it from the website.
