Hey! Does anyone have any good notes on what was going on in George Orwell's and Fritz Langs world while they were developing their texts?

Socialist, Communist, and Bolshevik movements were making waves in the political context of both Orwell and Lang's time. Orwell was the more obviously political composer though. I'm doing the same topics. So far what I have is that Orwell witnessed the rise and fall of various dictators whereas Lang witnessed the rise of the Weimar Republic. Lang also had specific views on how women should act due to his upbringing as a Roman Catholic and also because during his time women were starting to become more independent. Similarities include both composers lived in a war time period causing their political views to be similar
