"I'm still really connected to the land. It's time like this, in reflection, if I go back to my homeland and I listen."
As this line implies that the "land" is a "homeland", would that still be considered to be a metaphor?

I think it's more synecdoche than metaphor

synecdoche is a type of metaphor so it should be ok, if u say its a metaphor
