Just curious, just looking at a lot of essays online and am very tempted to just memorise one and adapt it to the question in the exam. Not saying its a good idea or anything, but i do wonder whether anyone has gotten away with it in the past?

Yes people will have gotten away with it in the past. That doesn't mean you will. Weigh up the risks- if you get caught- BOOM 0/20. Plus, if you just memorise another essay you won't be able to adapt it well on the spot anyway so yeah, make your own call but I would VERY HIGHLY recommend against it (I'd appeal to your moral judgement and say its also really unfair but if you're asking this question I think you're past this point).
