Hey,
I was just wondering.. to the people undertaking a Bachelor of Medicine or even an undergraduate degree for medicine what subjects did you do? Do you think these were beneficial? Are there any subjects that you regretted not taking??

Also, how high did do you have to score on the UMAT to be considered?

chemistry is only relevant subject. I guess bio helps a bit, but honestly, not that much. But like...be gun at chemistry.

you pretty much cover all the relevant bio in the first few weeks of uni anyway so i'd agree with khorne in saying it isn't really necessary to do hsc biology for medicine

my opinion is skewed but

I need more chem than a straight med degree, so maybe chem isn't that important...

Its good to have at least one of chem or bio under your belt because even though it might not be absolutely integral, it does help out to be acquainted with how the science field works because the first few weeks of med in any degree are always fairly science based.

No HSC subject is relevant.

You'll cover everything you'd learn in the HSC in the first few weeks at uni. Also, it would only take a few weeks of revision to catch up on HSC chem anyway, given you just need to know the chemical concepts and not the other 95% of the course involving societal impacts, etc =)

Me and Splicer got in through an atar only system (at different unis)

Mirakon would be better to ask about UMAT
