What are the major differences between obtaining a Bachelors degree in Medical Science as opposed to obtaining a Bachelors degree in Pre-Medicine? Does one increase the chance of getting into Medicine in the future over the other?

Also, do institutions matter? As far as I know, University of Wollongong and UTS offers Pre-Med whilst USyd, UNSW and others offer Medical Science. If one were to get a GPA of 3.5+/4.0 in either of these courses, which one would universities looking for postgrad Med students accept over the other (assuming they've aced the GAMSAT)? Does having a Medical-Science degree from USyd get highly looked upon by other institutions or are they viewed equally as a Pre-Med degree from UOW?

If you plan to apply to UQ or Melb they require several pre-req subjects in your undergrad degree. Make sure you have them covered.

Other than that there is absolutely no difference between doing MedSc or Pre-Med or even non-Med related degrees. Also no difference where you study (except Flinders Deakin Macquarie giving bonus points to their own undergrad students). GEMSAS will use a common scale to recalculate your GPA.

Have you been to any of the university open days? There is often a course coordinator you can track down to help clarify the differences between degrees.
Its also usually possible to call an admin number for staff who look after the specific med school. Ask for the course coordinator or one of the first-year lecturers and they should be able to help you fairly quickly by phone.
Pre-Med is generally the same, but if you were going to look for a job in Sydney CBD, it is likely your lecturers at UNSW or USyd will have contacts that can help you. If you wanted a job in Wollongong / Shellharbour then its more favourable for you to go to UoW.
