Hi,

I'm currently in Year 11 and I'm interested in doing Mechatronics.

What is the difference between studying Mechatronics at USYD than say UTS or UNSW??

When you choose Mechatronics, do you have to choose something else with it as well (e.g. combined with something) ??

Thanks

i can't specifically comment on uts or unsw but usyd mechatronics is great. to sum up the course structure; you're pretty much doing a mechanical degree EXCEPT you don't do the harder mechanical stuff in 3rd/4th year, instead you get to do some electrical engineering and some specialised mechatronics subjects (these are really good!).

and no, you don't need to combine with anything but around half - 2/3 of my year do combined with commerce/science/med sci.

sorry, u heard wrong! UTS has the lowest entry ATAR (of those three).

USyd is the most internationally renowned overall of those three. Law and commerce faculties prbly brought it up.
BUT it is unique at USyd because you can do Space Engineering with your Mechatronics degree. Only USyd and Uni of Queensland have it in Australia.
