So...find point M and gradient of line parallel to 6x - 2y + 7 = 0, then use point-gradient formula

However, i think there is another method!

We need to find eqn of line passing through M and is parallel to 6x - 2y + 7 = 0 (i.e. same gradient). what line passes though M? Line 'l' RIGHT?

Now we just need to modify the gradient of line 'l' such that it is equal to the gradient of line 6x - 2y + 7 = 0

Line 'l' has a gradient of (1+2k)/(k-2), however we want the gradient of 'l' to be the same as 6x - 2y + 7 = 0, so we just...equate gradients

(1+2k)/(k-2) = 3

k = 7

Sub k value into line 'l' and u just worked out the problem
